RAMALLAH, names street after Rachel Corrie

RAMALLAH,in the occupied territories of Palestine has honored fallen peace and human rights activist Rachel Corrie, by naming a street in her memory.

Rachel Corrie a 23 year old American peace activist was murdered by the IDF (Israeli Army) on the 16th of March 2003, whilst non-violently trying to protect the home of a Palestinian family, from illegal destruction by the Zionist state. Despite the fact that the IDF were aware that there was an active demonstration by non-Palestinian activists, the order was given to destroy the home.

There is little known about the bulldozer driver who took Rachel’s life, apart from the fact that he is a 38-year-old Russian immigrant who came to Israel in 1995.

During the recent case brought by Rachel’s parents against the State of Israel, the dozer driver was hidden behind a screen, which the Zionist state claimed was necessary to protect him.
